1959 Peterbilt Model 351 – Sheri’s Ride | 400 Cummins Power
Meet Sheri’s beloved “Needlenose” Peterbilt Model 351, a truly special truck in our Nostalgia Street Rods collection. With a sleek jet-black finish and powered by a powerful 400‑Cummins engine, this iconic rig carries both nostalgia and performance.
40 years ago, Pat taught Sheri to drive this very truck—making it more than a machine, but a trusted legacy. We’ve had it in our care for 15–16 years, lovingly preserving every detail. The frame was stretched to just under a 300‑inch wheelbase, giving it commanding road presence without losing that original charm.
Once plagued by mismatched components—it previously had two transmissions and a small temporary motor—we fully restored it to its glory using a proper 13‑speed transmission, bringing its functionality and mechanical soul back to life.
As a classic Peterbilt 351 “Needlenose” conventional (built from 1954–1976), it features the distinctive narrow hood and butterfly-opening bonnet—renowned for exceptional engine access and visibility—making it a timeless workhorse of American trucking history
Whether showcased at vintage truck meets or admired in our collection, Sheri’s Peterbilt continues to turn heads—not just for its general aesthetic and engineering, but for the family stories it carries with every mile.
